Members and Membership
Would you like to join the Red Guard? If so, there are a few things you should know:
Upon attending your first event, those interested in becoming a member will be considered a "recruit." To become a member, a recruit must complete several requirements.
1. Assemble the basic kit items needed to participate in events. This includes uniform, weapon, and basic field equipment. This does not include the winter uniform or specialist items.
2. Attend a minimum of three events. It is strongly recommended at least one of these should be a maximum effort event.
3. Demonstrate a familiarity with the Unit Goals and Code of Conduct; basic firearms and reenacting safety; and basic knowledge such as tactics, military courtesy, and Russian commands and words for uniforms/equipment.
Upon completion of these requirements, the recruit's service will be reviewed and they will be notified of their member status. Membership in the Red Guard is by invitation-only.
We do not currently charge annual dues and men and women are welcomed to join. While we don't charge dues, we do expect you to pay event registration fees and help support the unit with donations if needed. We ask that members attend a minimum of one event per year.
Male recruits will be initially trained as riflemen and all female recruits will be trained as medics. Once you have assembled your basic kit, those interested are allowed to develop a specialist's impression like Scout or Sniper. Those interested should meet with the team leaders of those sections for details. If you are transferring in from another unit and you had a specialty impression in your last unit, we'll take that into consideration.
We also kindly ask that you be at least 18 years of age to join us at our events and be of good physical health. Men must be willing to cut your hair short and shave before events. Likewise, women must be willing to wear their hair in a correct period style and remove non-military jewelry. Most importantly, we ask that you be willing to listen, learn, and contribute and to obey and respect your command staff.
